Is intelligent design viable? Yes, if you believe in supernatural powers and beings. No, if you don’t believe in supernatural powers and beings.

The exchange was enjoyable and informative. I found agreements and disagreements with both sides. I connected with Dr. Craig most often, & particularly with the Christian experience he related. It seemed to me there were a number of weaknesses & inaccuracies in the arguments made by Dr. Ayala beyond those noted by the opposition, but I also found insufficient agreement with Dr. Craig’s arguments. I empathized strongly with Dr. Ayala’s call to a non-abortive God, but disagree with his assessment and conclusion.

I’ve read ‘Darwin’s Black Box’ & respect the evidence presented from the work of Dr. Behe. I was surprised to learn that literal creationists have found a niche. ID may help describe some scientifically reasonable alternative interpretations of the evidence, but overall I find it inconclusive, inconsistent & unsatisfying.

In my opinion, from the data & personal comments presented, neither of the proponents were convincing in their considerations of Science with their professed religions. I determined that ID is insufficient to harmonize with Christianity, which seemed to be a critical point with the debaters.

Is ID viable? I suppose so, but I will continue to consider the interpretations of literalist scientists, which are generally more harmonious with both Scientific and Biblical interpretations.

Very sorry this did not work. I tried it a few times and it worked for me. I am not sure what went wrong.
